I'd argue that everything looks intentional if you work backwards. It's why we have so many conspiracy theories. The human brain is a pattern seeking machine, so of course it'd find a pattern of intelligent design if it's looking for it. I also think humans have a tendency to anthropomorphize the patterns they see. We see beauty and wonder in the world because it benefits us to see it, but those traits aren't inherent to the world, we've just assigned them that.
I think it's really cool you believe what you do and it makes you happy though.
I do sometimes wish I could feel like we lived in anything but a cold, unfeeling universe that came into being from random chance. I can't really see anything otherwise though, since my brain refuses to see anything but the null hypothesis for any supernatural claim.
Years of distrust in the Catholic Church I think instilled that in me.
I do really like fictional world building though. Maybe that's how I cope with it
And also yeah, you can totally be a god and not be omnipotent, but I think the modern conception of a god is usually an omnipotent god, and ones that aren't are generally considered demigods or old gods.
