I have used my own self-hosted email for almost 2 decades, & have deployed & handed over servers with high use productivity platforms for numerous groups. Some number just a dozen, others in the 10's of 1000's. They've continued to provide a safe & sovereign place to convene and work for years.
The missing link to disempowering big-tech platform capture is in sysadmin & infosec expertise, locked up in the corp and gov sectors. Now is the time for those skills to be shared, far and wide.
