Good question. Imagine your user never tells you their age or gender or feelings, but you use big pools of data & some ML to make a guess that it is an underage girl.

Then sell targeting of ads on them based on these inferences. And maybe a few others, like about the depression and insecurity she is struggling with & might be predisposed to buy.

It gets even creepier when the inferring is about finding signals for non-users and constructing shadow profiles. E.g. *your* kid.
