Also: the specter of “full-on socialism” is way more terrifying to low-information USians than I thought.

They can’t articulate any specifics of what they find terrifying, and when you refute some of their points with facts, the terror remains.

That fear is buried *deep* in their psyche. And since it wasn’t one they reasoned into, it’s very difficult to reason away.
