Posts that go on for pages -- or you own server's limit -- really ought to be collapsible into an attention conservation notice with a click. If it scrolls past the bottom of your screen it becomes a gamble whether it would be faster to mute the poster or to start scrolling past it if you're not interested. There have been times when I had to give up scrolling and went back to mute the boosted windbag and then had to reconsider the follow.
