Message from someone I met this week:
“Bro I was like freaking out when I saw you getting arrested they had a whole line of pigs in front of you so we couldn’t get to you and at the same time had a comrade face down on the ground and we were all screaming that he couldn’t breathe. I have videos of it it was so scary. Made me feel sick seeing y’all get arrested like that”
The arrests I was trying to document were brutal. One person was on the ground getting dragged and screaming, another was completely doused in mace after already being handcuffed and was drenched in the orange liquid. This is after they brutalized a bunch of other people for standing in the park too. I felt more of an urgency to document it too because a separate line of cops pushed out NLG and legal observers so far away they couldn’t see what was happening.
My phone was recording for longer than I thought even after I was arrested. Haven’t been able to watch it yet I still need to kind of recenter and decompress a bit but I’ll give some updates later today. Might be later in the evening as myself and some others arrested have our arraignment at noon today.
