In terms of social networks/media, what do people mean when they say they value privacy? I'm under the impression that unless you're doing end to end encryption, that if you post it on the internet, it's public.
I value not being sold to, where I can enjoy content and communicate with others without it also being some sale, or being inundated with ads.
I value the lack of an algorithm for visibility, because I hate how stifling it is, and how it alters how we communicate in order to gain more views.
But I don't get what people are looking for when they say they value privacy, it just doesn't make sense to me in a social network unless I'm misinterpreting it
