The attacks on US forces in Erbil Iraq bring back memories of my time there in 2003. I worked from 7 PM to 7 AM. I was the senior NCO of a helicopter maintenance unit so I often stayed beyond my shift. One bright, sunny morning, at about 10, I was relaxing in a bag chair. A huge dust devil picked up a 40 person steel frame tent a hundred feet & then it started falling on me. It hit the ground 3 feet from me knocked me down, then flew away. I was almost killed by a dust devil! Lucky to be alive!
