An interesting observation I have made about myself as a lifelong fan of horror, dystopian scifi and other grim stuff.
I have apparently lost my stomach for it.
I had to walk away from the audiobook version of Neil Gaimans Neverwhere (even though I have read it in the past), because the brilliant acting of the violence in it got too far under my skin. It made me feel sick and anxious.
All kinds of torture, violence, the world ending. I just can't anymore. Not when the reality we live in has become so violent.
Wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
