STAY AWAY FROM COINBASE!
I tried to buy a small amount of BTC through them yesterday and it was IMMEDIATELY transferred to an "unknown" wallet! Their support has been abysmal, over 3 hours (!!!) talking with 4 different support people, 2 of whom locked my account without asking, before one of them simply confirmed that they have no way of telling whether the transaction was fraudulent or not. Given that they enforce KYC, I simply don't believe this.
I'm just glad it was only a relatively small amount of fiat. It's been an extremely disappointing experience with crypto so far, and it's not exactly beating the scam allegations!
