After decades of tech companies telling us to move everything to their cloud services and giving away practically free storage, I'm starting to see examples where they're starting to just involuntarily delete people's stuff, citing the cost of maintaining all that storage capacity

And this means that a lot of people and institutions are gonna just lose a lot of important stuff because there's also a cost involved in retroactively going back and curating the stuff you want to keep
