The wealthy did this to themselves, IMO. You could see it here, with the Willkommenskultur preaching that the refugees and other migrants would save the retirement and health care systems with their contributions, and do all the jobs they didn't want to do because ewww real work.
They wanted slaves, and now there's a slave uprising, and they're like, but not like that, tho.
