I’m going through some of the papers of my old friend, the late CBS News correspondent Richard C. Hottelet, who was hired by Ed Murrow to help cover WWII. After the war he ran the CBS Moscow bureau until a fierce dispute over censorship (sound familar?) prompted its closure. Here’s the cable telling Dick to shut the office and leave the Soviet Union.
