The West's recent prosperity is the result of multiple past generations who believed in hard work, saving and investing for a better future.

Now, much of this prosperity is being squandered by the present generation who believes in instant gratification and spending beyond one's contribution to society. This process can proceed for some time but, eventually, there will be nothing left to squander.
