I think that is something I want to work with more into the new year, as more active clubs and groups begin to organize to represent our ideas and do activism it will take a group of us to help educate our people on Infosec and making it more difficult to be doxxed.
I think that's nice you've taken that approach. I can't say it's a silver bullet, but there are ways to smooth over some of the operational friction - internally and when dealing with clients. It is possible to erect an internal cloud solution. I do this on my homelab to share files between my phone or laptop and my massive storage cluster over a VPN using sFTP or webdav like Nextcloud.
I've had fun using Lineage and Graphene phones, even though they are a little quirky. One thing you have to do is activate them BEFORE unlocking the phone and installing open-source ROMs otherwise the carriers will reject the device activation. My other pain point for Lineage and Graphene is there aren't really managed solutions for any organization looking to issue company phones that satisfy two essential criteria: Remote wipe and managed app store.
