Yeah I looked at his, they really are great but again a little too big for the most of my spaces without a massive upheaval. Pretty sure he says it's hard to get things smaller than his smallest stove going too, which I understand but I don't mind going for less efficiency if the device is smaller.
Most of the US rocket stove people are heating big spaces in a cold continental climate. Here we have hardly any space, things are usually insulated better and its not a -20F cold but mild and wet so we need the heat to remove the moisture etc but not always running for as long as you might expect for the latitude. I think this is why Dutchman Peter van den Berg seems to come up with the best potential projects for me like the Minnie mouse he installed at Paul's place:
