So today, the agreement between the US and Saudi Arabia to conduct all oil trades in US dollars has expired. It was a 50 year agreement started on June 9th 1974.
Today it expired and the Saudi's have stated that they aren't going to renew it.
Long term turbulence in the financial markets to be expected.
