“I am sitting here this morning realizing just how much I need God in my life. How much I need connection with friends and family. How much I need excercise and whole foods and excellent habits. How much I need good money.
The self improvement movement often teaches stoic principles of "not needing anything or anyone", of detachment and/or contentment. And while I am all for minimalism, self reliance and gratitude, I still realize that "having needs" is a massive part of BEING HUMAN.
The fact is: ALL HUMAN BEHAVIOR is tailored toward this one thing: getting our needs met. From Maslow's hierarchy of needs right up to Marcus Aureliu's stoic principles, one thing is sure - we work, we play, we connect, we manipulate, we study, we try, we fail, we try again... all in search of meeting the most basic human needs for shelter, food and connection. And only once these basic needs are met, can we focus fully on self actualization.
How amazing that Nakamoto bestowed upon on such a gift! A form of money with which we can see the fruits of our labor taking care of our basic needs.
During our December holiday, my son and I discussed how easy life on earth has become. We live in such a privileged time! We didn't have to walk, or ride horses for weeks, or build train tracks or design aeroplanes in order to travel to Witsand to see our family and play our hearts out in the beautiful ocean. Everything has already been done. Our forefathers gave their lives in order for us to live these easy and comfortable lives. And now, the cherry on top, we will be the first ever generations to experience life with good monetary values.
How does your life change under a bitcoin standard? How does it affect your values and principles? How does it influence your relationships, your health and fitness, your purpose, the way you spend your time, the way you serve God?
We are lucky. Sooooo lucky.
