Now might be a good time for the world to revisit the Truth and Reconciliation Comission in post-apartheid South Africa.

There's a reason why they did what they did.

I'm not saying it was a perfect solution, South Africa has plenty problems today.

But the motivating principle was sound.

If you truly want the violence, death and destruction to stop, you have to find a way to look past the many reasons you may have to continue.

It's a question of what you want, not of what you feel legitimately justified to do in response.
