I have no idea if Poland has its own version of the US DMCA, but legal threats like this - and hostile embedded software that acts against the customer's interests - are precisely what radicalizes people against these laws and business models built on it.
Actually, "radicalize" is really the wrong word, since in a sane world, there's nothing at all radical about fixing things you own.
