The problem with this worldview is that it simply isn't Christian.
Church is a core doctrine of being Christian, and rejecting the global church and its 2000 year history may be desirable at times, but once you start picking and choosing doctrines, term "Christian" starts to become too vague if it includes folk expressions of christian spirituality.
