NASA's Perseverance rover has found an unusual rock on the surface of Mars, unlike any that has been seen before. A keen-eyed Perseverance team member noticed the unusual rock in a low-resolution Navcam image, and it was decided that it should be investigated more closely. Once Perseverance got close, it was clear this was something unusual: a strange black-and-white striped rock sitting on the surface of Mars. It probably rolled to its location from higher up.
