I don't disagree, but I think part of that is that they've diverged from Apple in how they manage their app/OS relationship, but they're still trying to emulate Apple's style of hype building. Apple's keynotes have moved from Jobs on a stage with a glorified PowerPoint behind him to Craig Federighi doing parkour through the building and highly choreographed video presentations. They all also seem to have the same handwaving coach. It's distracting from their actual announcements.
