companies don't control what people call them; we do. i will never call comcast 'xfinity', or facebook 'meta', or google 'alphabet', or twitter 'x', or blackrock 'xe'. the only reason why a corporation changes its name is that its previous name has become a liability -- usually PR fallout from doing evil shit that finally caught up with them.
