It's getting hard to rip CDs. The PS5 doesn't even play CDs(!!!) and my MacBook Pro doesn't seem able to provide enough power to either of my external drives via its USB-C ports. I do have a dedicated DVD player for watching British DVDs but it only plays, no ripping. I'm not even sure what I'd buy to be confident of being able to rip CDs. Maybe I'd need a powered external hub but I'm not sure if they provide enough power after negotiating whatever it is that hubs negotiate with the devices you plug in and I've had bad experiences. Do the kids still use bit torrent? Maybe that's how I can obtain rips of the CDs I actually paid for.
