It's against their interests for people to feel empowered to fix their own health. Blind pill-gulpers (preferably desperate ones who will shell out ANY amount of money to feel better) are their favorite cash cow.
Plus, Big Pharma aside, people aren't ready to hear that cancer's primary fuel is sugar. They want to keep eating their cupcakes & cinnamon rolls without knowing how much damage it's actually doing to their body.
...Until of course, that metabolic damage catches up with them, and they end up at the doctor, who Big Pharma has trained to prescribe pills and tell them "nutrition doesn't matter so go ahead and keep eating carbs..."
