The problem isn't this deal, IMO, it's that he didn't use his political leverage to demand the yearly budget get cleaned up. There's no room in the budget to service these payments (when they eventually come due), the pensions, the Burgergeld, etc.
I'm not going to criticize too much, until they've covered all the topics, like integration and migration.
