Yeah x4 is the name. They definitely don't do the keyboard/mouse interface right. I suspect its meant to be played with a joystick. The flying is the typical airplane in space experience, although you can turn off "flight assist" to make it a little more realistic (its really turning on a different fly mode). The flying is actually more like submarines in space tbh. But I still think it's great. I just play with a different set of expectations. The lore is entertaining too. I like the customizability of the ships.

If I was making a space game, it would be very different. I'd focus on exploration and building logistics away from civilization. X4 is not that. Its busy... Lots of aliens everywhere.
