I mean some of it lines up and makes sense. I have heard of the great flood that covered the earth, but not a mud flood.

The main issue is that history is written by the victors. Humanity as a whole has a long losing streak. Especially when it comes to maintaining advanced civilizations. As well as keeping accurate historical accounts of past catastrophic events.

At least that are made publicly available.

Overall we are all forever chasing ghosts, rumors, and hearsay when it comes to historical research.

Never definitive. With the truth always being in a constant state of flux until the next discovery.
