Every time I am bemoaning the fact that there aren't enough progressive candidates running locally as the first step toward shifting the Overton window and eventually making it possible to win state and federal elections, I briefly think to myself, "Shit, maybe I should run for something," but then I immediately remind myself, "First of all, you hate people, and second, you should support BIPOC women candidates instead of trying to put another cis straight white guy in office."
