This summer I've been doing hydrographic mapping of the #MississippiRiver on the weekends. What I learned is it isn't just a "river" even as far north as #Minnesota. It is an absolutely HUGE wilderness ecosystem of marshes and side channels, slough, lakes and ponds. The overwhelming quantity of #wildlife is just amazing, and it's constantly changing.
The river itself is actually ALIVE.
