They pushed through the night to make good time. Already exhausted, they arrived in the ruins Conyberry, and spoke with some horses that had fled the ranch and learned that it had indeed been raided by orcs - a lot of them. Bracing themselves for the struggle ahead, they continued on their way, finally arriving at Butterskull Ranch later that day.
Excited by the view of an orchard, Bird - the Tabaxi Monk - split from the party without warning with Miala, the Drow Fighter, grudgingly following after. "Someone's gotta babysit her."
Continuing along the trail, Bhaurb, Skolis, and Wylston were confronted by a trio of orcs on patrol. Announcing that they were friends of Nawz, the chieftain of the local orc warband, the trio laughed and attacked.
Though taking some hard hits themselves, they were able to dispatch the three orcs before Bird and Miala could arrive to assist.
After taking some time to hide the bodies and evidence of the battle, the party licked their wounds and set their sights on the farmhouse....
