The Gulf Stream is a very important fast-flowing #ocean current that transports heat from the tropics to the north Atlantic. It's the reason why the #UK, Iceland & Nordic countries are a much milder climate than northern Canada (but same latitude). The #GulfStream slowing 1% per decade may not seem like much now, but it will be. It also means hot water will linger in the tropics, spawning #hurricanes, and have a huge effect on northern #fisheries as well. #ClimateChange
