I think if people could have thrown up their own “twitter relays” to combat some of the issues there, they would have done it a long time ago. And people would use said relays, even if they were a bit slower or something.

So, I imagine that if centralization actually becomes an issue in the future, people will just use/operate new relays even if there’s some tradeoff.
