Very familiar with this from my youth in Evanston/Chicago. Later on in my early Army career the 4th Army Band Brass Quintet performed frequently at Daley Plaza (indoors in the Winter). Most of the gigs were in the morning (don't recall the reasons for the occasions). Afterward, we'd head over to the Drake Hotel for a wonderful breakfast, with a fantastic view of Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. Those were very good times! 😀
