#OTD 22 June 1997 Russell George Johnson, my dad's cousin, died in Cook County, Illinois. He lived his 83 years in the Chicago area, where he married and raised his son. Russell was raised by his Ekstrom grandparents after his mother died and his policeman father fled for his life, due to death threats from the gangs that terrorized Chicago in the 1920s. His lovely wife, who we called Bunny, allowed me to scan their beautiful wedding photo.
