Dug up my old, slightly broken Livescribe 3 pen, and I gotta say, even with its quasi-abandoned 2-star-rated app, shitty ballpoint cartridge, and crap paper, it is still a nicer handwriting experience than an Apple Pencil. Even with one of those "paper-like" screen iPad screen protectors.
