There was some tweaking involved on the cf side, but not much.
Having a look at their site ... it's a Wordpress install that shovels nearly 200 files down the pipe when I go to the home page. That's a fair bit different to get set up on an upstream caching proxy than Iceshrimp or Pixelfed.
CDN caching of static assets will help but WP is a complex dynamic beast such that there is additional paid service from CF called APO.
It all depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. I see that the site is already behind cloud flare, so perhaps just some explicit caching rules on the basic/free plan will help if they've not done so already.
