imagine you love trains and you plan a visit to a train museum but then can't go; it's a visceral deep hit, not "oh well, I wanted to head to the hobby store but can't make it today". it's out of all fucking proportion to the actual seriousness of the issue, and it doesn't matter that you know what's happening, because it will continue to happen.
