#Israel / “Democrats Abroad” Israel Board Quits Group Over Response to Gaza War

The entire board of Democrats Abroad Israel resigned from the international umbrella organization due to perceived #antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment within the group. This followed the October 2022 terrorist attack in Israel by #Hamas.

The Israel board members felt the international leadership failed to properly acknowledge or sympathize with Israeli members who lost loved ones in the attack. They also felt there was hostile rhetoric against #Israel and #Jews in online discussions within the organization.

Democrats Abroad is an international umbrella organization and official arm of the Democratic Party for Americans living outside the United States. It has chapters in over 50 countries and aims to mobilize overseas Americans to vote for Democratic candidates in US elections. The Israel chapter was one of the national chapters.
