Fun fact: The flag of the Arab revolt, on which many Arab flags including the Palestinian flag are based, was designed by Mark Sykes to inspire unity and nationalism among Arabs in order to weaken the Ottoman Empire and further British interests in the Middle East.
Even the flags, like the national identities, are Western products.
