Are there written expositions on what kind of things are generally deemed to be "mathematically interesting" by math communities or by individual mathematicians?
I've seen brief discussions in passing, but I'm wondering if there are thorough attempts in describing what "mathematically interesting" means, as either autobiographies of personal preference or historical accounts of norms.
EDIT: Additionally, are there accounts of the aesthetics of modern math? I.e. what makes an expression seem cringy or cool to mathematicians?
