that might well be the case - but it's not so simple. What does consensus mean? Newtonian Mechanics was completely scientific until it was succinctly wrong. Thermodynamics had its day in court, too. The Phlogiston theory was normal science until, one day, it was completely wrong. I could continue for a while.
