I’m reading a book as a reference for my dissertation about private debt markets in 18th and 19th century France (I always go for the exciting stuff), and I got to thinking about currency manipulation and gold bugs.
Do people really think that gold will ever be a stable store of value and unit of account, or are they just running a pure scam with no actual economic theory behind it?
