Many of you who’ve tuned into my podcast interviews have heard me say: if I were still homeschooling, I wouldn’t be here talking with you today. My focus would be entirely on my kids, their education, and their well-being.
I started my journey with Free Market Kids and Orange Hatter initiatives only after my kids graduated and my time freed up. But this week was a reminder of those intense parenting days—one of my kids was unwell, and suddenly, my work had to take a back seat.
Juggling my work with Orange Hatter and Free Market Kids became quite the challenge. I postponed the reading club several times before finally asking a member to step in as facilitator. My mind just couldn’t stay focused on work while worrying about my child’s health and figuring out how to help them feel better.
This week made me realize just how tough it is for working parents, constantly juggling both roles. I was lucky enough, with my husband’s support and our ability to live on one income, to stay home and homeschool.
To all of you balancing it day in and day out—I see you, and I’m in awe. It takes resilience, patience, and so much love. You’re appreciated, and your work is nothing short of amazing. Be encouraged; you’re doing something truly impactful every single day. 👏
