While I think its important to be aware of gen-AI news since it does impact us as techies, I get the distinct impression that the hype (which barely relates to the tech it describes) is actively doing harm to people, science, business, & planet.

That said I also see everyone as having formed their camps, & any debates boil down to counterfactuals (a.k.a. what would've been) that don't go anywhere.

So here we all are waiting for the inevitable crash!
