Nobody knows.
Nobody knows absolutely anything about the true nature of reality, in my eyes God exists, and the only thing that we can truly understand with certainty is the felt presence of immediate experience, morality and good and evil is a tricky subject, when looking outward into the world we can get a grasp of what good and evil is, and if search deeply within we understand that embracing emotions such as love, happiness and compassion amplifies the good within. So ask yourself what is the highest good?
The true notion of God in my opinion is inconceivable, just as how our everyday lives about the true nature of reality is, but if we begin to look inside and amplify the emotions of good we get a glimpse of where God is… everywhere.
"Man cannot see God because man knows not humility. Man cannot see God because he looks out and beyond, and not within. Man cannot see God because man does not see himself as he is, or see himself in his fellow man. And man cannot see God, because God is not only of heaven, but of earth, and of hell."
