TIL in the US, items stored inside of a storage unit or lock box are considered private property of the owner even if it resides on the premises of another.
Ergo, if the owner of the storage facility gets into your stuff, it's effectively trespassing and theft.
I wonder why digital property doesn't have the same value and protections.
