Some brief comments on my top videogame for the year.
It was The Legend Of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom.
Now this may seem obvious choice, but I was actually not that big a fan of Breath Of The Wild. In that game, I found that not fighting enemies was generally the best thing to do. So for me it was a weird experience of grinding shrines till I had enough hearts to finish the game.
But Tears Of The Kingdom, I found there was so much more to do. Messing about in The Depths was one of the best videogame experiences I can remember. Crafting weird hot air balloons, and exploring into the dark was a new and scary experience.
The shrines I thought were better and more fun due to the crafting mechanics. And the combat was enjoyable because of the weird fusion options.
It was one of the few games I started and actually finished this year (I'm looking at you, God Of War Ragnarok).
