One of my goals for the next few years is to start a side business alongside my job, working on freelance projects and building a client base that generates recurring revenue.
I’m really bad at sales and business, so this goal is a huge challenge for me.
I think the main challenge right now is finding the right project. Because, you see, it’s not just any project… I want to take on projects that I enjoy doing, that keep me motivated!
For example, I just took on two projects and only later found out that I have to develop both using a tool that I think is terrible and that I don’t know how to use. It’s been unbelievably difficult to do even the basics. I’m seriously considering backing out and refusing the project…
The question is: why did I accept a project without knowing exactly what it would entail in the first place? I shouldn’t have.
But it’s okay, it’s all a learning experience.
